The 2006 Ace Race is coming to Norman. The event will take place at Griffin Park on Saturday, September 23rd. The packages will be handed out 9:00 and the event will start at 10:00. The format for this event is two rounds of eighteen with each hole measured between 150’ and 250’. The cost to play is $20 per package. You must preregister by September 13th to ensure that you get a package. There will only be a couple extra packages ordered. Each package consists of two prototype discs (ESP plastic), a supercolor mini, and a hat. For thos of you who have not experienced this great event the rules are listed below:
Rules of play: Each player is required to use the discs provided in the One Disc Ace Race package. If the disc is lost that player has the option to use the second disc from the package. Only one throw is to be made from the tee area. Groups of up to 8 people are ok for this event depending on the course and the time of day. Each player should have their own scorecard and mark holes that they aced with an A and holes they hit metal on with an M. After everyone has thrown and marked their card they go pick up their shots and move to the next tee area. After throwing all 18 holes the player can keep the same scorecard and write the second 18 on the row below. The player with the most aces after 36 holes is the Grand Prize winner. If there are two or more players with the same number of aces then metal hit would be the tiebreaker. If no aces were made then the most metal hit would be the Grand Prize winner. If there is a tie with most metal hit or there are no aces and no metal hit then a closest to the pin contest would be needed to determine the winner. Payout: The person with the most aces will receive the Grand Prize package. You must play off any ties. If no aces, most metal hit receives the Grand Prize package.
